Accusport?

Can someone tell me the difference between the Accusport Rugers and the standard ones?

accusport is a distributor for ruger guns and orders runs of guns that arent cataloged. Such as the 5.5 inch stainless adj sighted bisleys.

Lloyd got it right on.  Most distributors will contract a manufacturer to make a run of un uncataloged model that they in turn will have exclusive distribution of.  The last few years, the stainless 5 1/2" bbled Ruger Bisleys have become known simply as Acusport Bisleys.  They've had a run in .44, two runs in .41, two runs in .45 Colt and two runs of the .45Colt/.45 ACP model.  The next one in .357 is expected quite soon.

Thanks very much guys.  One more question about these guns.  Was anything extra done to these guns such as action work or cylinder bore sizing?  I know Ruger has historically had issues with the cyl. being undersized or inconsistent at least in .45 cal.   Thanks again.

Nope.  they're stadanrd production just in stainless.  Ruger's isn't going to alter any tooling for a small run.   They're easy enough to tune and smooth the action and the throats are affordably sized. That's not really an issue if you're using jacketed bullets anyways/

Just my two cents I have one in 41magnum and 45lc/45acp.  They have been great shooters right out of the box.  I have not felt the need to do any work on them.  The rumor I have heard is that the 357magnums will start coming out after the new year.

My 45 accusport was out of the first run and did need the chambers opened. It was regretably sold a while back. I still have a 44 accusport and it is no doubt the most accurate single action out of the box that ive ever owned. It now wears fake ivorys that 44 man is in the process of scrimshawing and it has a bowen rear and clements front sight a belt moutain base pin and an action job done to it. It aint a full blown custom but it is a pretty nice piece.

For the money, they are as fine a hunting handgun as can be found in my opinion. I have tweaked mine (a 45) a bit as well.

Mine came very accurate out of the box.  The only thing I did was change out the hammer and trigger springs with a spring kit.
