Butler, thanks for your reply. Now that I re-read my post, I can see that it could be interpreted to sound more negative than I intended especialy the "never mind" bit! It does'nt mean that we have given up, but we are a bit like the non-military component of the action at Wounded Knee, if you get my drift. Johnnie is holding all the aces and he knows it. As a member of the Sporting Shooters Association, we have been trying to argue for some common sense... but it aint easy. Each time the government tightens up gun laws, they are given accolades in the press and their popularity soars. The bottom line is that the majority of the public is at best indiferent to the issue of gun ownership, and the antics of the red-necks are making them even more "anti-gun" Anyway, getting away from that depressing stuff,I can't send any pics of the Browning, but after about 20 years service it's appearance was pretty sad. I know that polyurethane sometimes covers up crap wood, but, thankfully, not in this case. I finished it with "Tru oil" and left a few dings to maintain it's character. The metal finish is still quite good and although the length of pull is too short for me, I have'nt got the heart to alter the butt. It's a shame they stopped making them.
