Smith and wesson 29-2 value
« on: December 18, 2006, 09:40:22 AM »
Curious as to value of smith 29-2 with 6.5 barrel, target trigger, target hammer, pinned barrel and recessed cylinder. This gun is in excellent shape with wooden presentation case with book and tools. Gun has been fired, only small hint of drag line on cylinder. gun has finger grooved wood grips. Thanks for all that respond.

The Blue Book says $550 for 98% but I have seen $600 or even a lot more especially if it has the box/presentation case, papers and tools. A little will depend on where you are. Check Gunbroker.com and Guns america.com for other opinions.
Good luck but consider "they don't make them like that anymore!" The new 29 50th Anniversary is going for anywhere around 900 or so.

Thanks for your help but it is too late sold to a friend who listed it on gunbroker. GAVE IT AWAY. last time I looked the gun has been bid up to $701.00, and still has 3 days to go. had considered listing it there myself but didn't want the hassle of shipping a handgun. My local gun dealer is closing. He was one of the dealers here in virginia being sued over the guns ending up in New York. Since he is closing his doors I really didn't have a dealer to help on my end in the shipping of the gun.
