I have one Ruger M77 MkII in 223 Rem that has a very crisp and light trigger. I should have a M77 MkII in 6.5x55 Swede sometime in the near future and Ive read that the factory triggers arent worth snot. Is there any way I could swap the trigger on these rifles if the 6.5 isnt good? I know I should just have the new triggger smithed or replaced but I dont shoot my MkII 223 much since I have an AR 15 and Id rather have a good trigger on the rifle I would use to hunt Deer with.

Hi Single,
For about 65 or 70 bucks you can put a timney in your 77II. I'd do that. It's easy to do and safe.

If the .223 is the standard model, trigger swap should be no problem. If it is the heavy barrel model with the two stage trigger, I don't think they will swap.

Mark II triggers are adjustable for pull weight and overtravel, but if it's creepy it'll require stonin'. Its best to let someone familiar with triggers to do the work. That'll probably cost pretty near as much as an aftermarket trigger.
