i like nikon scopes.  the leupolds are o.k.,  but i think your paying for the name and warrenty.  i prefer the nikons by far,  and bushnell scopes i have seen are nice.

I use  Leupolds for my Hard recoiling handguns. It gives very clear picture and can handel the recoil. But I think

I don't have a scope on my 44 T/C Contender just open sights.

I've tried a few Burris scopes but they usually give up the ghost. Leupold and Bushnell last and last........and have good optics as well.

Both my Contenders (357 Max, 22Mag) are scoped with the Nikon 2X.  Great scope.

I have handgun hunted for the better part of 25 years. My hunting consiste of deer, wild hogs and varmints. I shoot revolvers and various break open single shot handguns in a multitude of cartridges...

Most any cartridge that I shoot that is around the power level and recoil of a 308 Winchester, I use Weavers 2.5X-8X handgun scope and anything over that in power, I use nothing but the Bushnell 2X-6X handgun scopes. I have never had a scope failure on any of my pistols using these two scopes...

I shoot a Remington 240 gr. JHP in my 14" Contender at 2,200 fps. and have killid deer out to 125 yards with it...

I have since rechambered this barrel to the 44X307 and that has upped my velocities to just over 2,500 fps. shooting the same bullet that I was using when it was a 44 mag. I have since taken a coyote to the far side of 200 yards with devestating results!

I am interested in this post because I think I am going to have to glass my sbh 44mag.  I have bushnell, nikon monarch, and tasco on my rifles.  I have absoluteyl no experience with handgun scopes.  If the bushnell holosight would take the recoil I would probably buy it but I am hesitent because it is only warrentied for 2 years.  I do like bushnell scopes, I have a 1 3/4 x 5 widefield on my 270 and the field of view is so wide, on 1 3/4 power I can see almost all the rifle barrel.

millwright,

I shoot a 7 1/2" Super Blackhawk in 44 magnum that wears a Bushnell 2X-6X Trophy handgun scope and personally, I would'nt trade it for anything else out there...

I mounted a custom Weigand scope base to my gun and was able to get 4 of Milletts vertical split rings on the scope. With a rock solid mounting system like this, that scope ain't goin anywhere ;D....

I've used Burris 2X, Leupold 2X, and a Tru-Glo Red Dot on my Super 14 .44, all with good results.  But I believe the Leupold is the best.  The crosshairs are better defined and work better in brush.  The dot is neat but gets dim to see through in low light where the scopes will gather light right up until sundown.

On others I use a Redfield 2X7 on a Super 14 .22 LR Match, a 3X9 Burris on a Super 14 .223, and a Leupold 2.5X8 on a 12 in. Custom Shop .30-30.

All have given excellent service.
