Hunters Memorial Park
« on: December 20, 2006, 06:32:42 PM »
Here are some photos of the Hunters Memorial Park in my home town, Rice Lake WI Located on Linden Ave. It was built and funded by many local sponsors and other sponsors including Ted Nugent and dedicated to the six hunters murdered deer gun season 2004 in Sawyer county. It is a beautiful place with a basket ball court, play ground, picnic area and a building equipped with a kitchen and rest rooms. I encourage any one passing by to visit the park. I enjoy visiting the park but sometimes leave with a heavy heart since I knew some of those people very well.

Very seldom get down that way but if I do I will check it out. Thanks for the post.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Great Post Cheesehead,
I hunt in Vilas and remember that year too well.  Such a sad story.  Sorry about your friends.

Another year goes by, and as I sit on my deer stand my thoughts go back to this and I am both puzzled and disturbed. Time does heal the wounds of friends and family and people move on and move forward. One of the survivors is back to deer hunting this year, and I can not imagine his inner strength.
