chrono testing 41 Magnum 250 gr JSP bullets & loads
« on: December 20, 2006, 11:27:34 PM »
Hey folks I've done follow up work with these new 250 gr Jacketed soft points for the 41 magnum.

I posted it on the G B reloading forum:
http://www.graybeardoutdoors.com/smf/index.php/topic,106535.msg1098304362.html#msg1098304362

These have a rather wide flat point and seem pretty hard. I wonder how they'd perform on game?

The maker says they tend to behave like hard cast and penetrate deeply.

Merry Christmas

Well  SB some youthful and indiscrete days have left me with a tendency to avoid the J D in particular.  But after the wood is in, the stove stoked up, the arms cleaned, oiled and stored and all the other (well most) junk stored, the kinds in their bunks,  then a hot buttered rum, or a little nip of Bushmills 10 yr single malt now and then goes pretty nice.

But I don't touch the stuff if I think I'm going to be out in the cold - it chills you down faster.

Cold broke last night with a small blizzard and temps to +25!  Dramatic, from -20 to +25 in 24- 30 hours makes a real difference and nice one at that. Beautiful warm sunny calm day today.  Too bad the range is closed, I haven't restuffed the cases, I screwed up my email program and stayed up most the night trying to fix it.

Now if I can finish the snogo repair and keep up with the kids demands I hope to get back out to the range in a week or two - if the temps hold decent.

But the boys sure loved it - out for a couple hours I think. Warm enough to play but cool enough they aren't wet.

Here in California's central valley we break out the down jackets and warm gloves at the slightest HINT the temperature may drop below 40 degrees F!!!  Of course, when its 105 in July we WISH we were in Antartica.

The winter hasn't been too bad here in the Illinois, this year but, it's damp feeling all the time. My wife said she thought the lilacs were goiing to start sprouting? Another lady she works with told her she thought she saw her tulips were up? I wish it would freeze hard so the sicknesses bugs would be killed off.
