Fixed Sight Single Six
« on: December 21, 2006, 03:01:44 AM »
I just purchased a new 5.5" blued fixed sight single six (yesterday).  I was torn between the fixed and adjustable sights but the fixed sight version just looked a lot better to me and I also preffered the sight picture on the fixed sight version.  I have been itching for a single six for years, hopefully I can shoot it this weekend.  Has anybody had problems with their fixed sight single sixes not shooting to POA?  If so, what did you do to fix it?  Also, do you have any ammo recommendations?

Happy Holidays

The only thing you can do to fix a fixed sight gun is file the front sight down if you need some elevation. Other than that, it's good ole Kentucky Shootin'.

I have not had an issue with Ruger's .22s not shooting where they looked.  I know some of the full sized Vaquero's would shoot left of the sights.  To correct that you can turn the barrel just a little, or send it back to Ruger.  That's one thing about Ruger, they do stand behind their guns 100%.  Enjoy that gun!  44 Man
