I have a 325 just like that one. Mine is not as nice as that one. But, it shoots well. I also have a 340 in .22 Hornet. It's another good shooter.

I have a 325 in 30-30. Mounted a scope on it and my daughter used it to take a 200lb black bear last year. Mine was in rough condition I repaired the stock and Glass bedded it. I Did have an Issue with the saftey on my rifle. If the saftey was not pushed on very hard and you pulled the triger with the saftey on when you released the saftey the gun would go off. I removed  the saftey on this rifle and leave the bolt up until ready to fire. Also this gun has no serial number I was told this wasn't required before GCA68.

I have a 304 in 22 hornet, great shooter.Shoots factory loads so well I have trouble matching it with reloads. It likes the 45gr hornady best in handloads, and have taken many groundhogs and a few turkeys with it.

I 'm surprised at well the little carbine shoots, had a little bit of target shooting in my brothers pasture today, only done some off hand shots out to 75yd.s with open sights, with Rem 170 gr. ammo ,gun seems well balanced, accurate, and almost recoil free, kicks lighter than my 94 in 30-30 ,it reminds me of a 410 Savage Bolt shotgun that I used to rabbit and squirrel hunt with. The gun seems very pointable...

I used to own a Savage 340C in 30/30 with, get this, a 4x Savage scope and side mount. The entire package came from the factory like that and me, like an idiot, sold it. It shot 1" groups all day and delivered the recoil smooth as silk. Yep, among others, I wish it was still in my safe.

We have a Savage 340 and a Stevens 325, both in .30-30. My wife has shot several deer with each, and I have taken more than a few with the 340. I got a scope mounted on the 325 and it is accurate out to 300 yards on coyotes, using home loaded 125g pointed bullets. I would not think of letting either rifle go.

I have an old 340 super-sporter 30-30. I'd be willing to sell it too.  Not sure the value of it though.

I still have the first rifle I ever bought in 1968, a Savage 340 in 222 Rem. It was pretty beat up & worn, but it shot good. Over the years the barrel got shot out. My Uncle worked for Savage Arms since the War & he said he would have a new barrel put on for me. About a month later he brought back my reworked gun. He had his friends @ Savage put on the most accurate barrel, fanciest stock you have ever seen & a gold trigger. Didn't recognize it! This thing will still drive tacks @ 100yrds. When folks are looking at my guns they ask were the ---- did you get a stock like that on a cheap Savage 340?  You've got a good gun there.   Like my Brother-in-Law always said:: She ain't much for looks but she's a runner!!

You should be able to find a magazine at 'Numrich Arms' site on web.

I picked up a 340 - E in 30-30 on Sat. It had a rec. sight, no rear sight.I bought the weaver mounting system for it. I was going to put a LUE. 2-7 on it, but the bolt almost hits the scope.Any ideas what scope would fit. They only had the short ring mount.

My Savage 340 that I talked about has a Leupold 6X on it with the Weaver side mount. Mines a tight fit also, but it don't hit.

I have the Stevens in 30-30.

Love to shoot SAECO #308 which is a 200 gr GC bore rider.  Iron sights are OK.
