Remmington # 10 Cap problems
« on: April 28, 2003, 02:16:32 AM »
I was at the Jesse James shoot only to have my snail capper break.  I loaded a new tin of #10 caps in my straight capper only to discover the caps are too long to slide through the capper.  This tin was a very recent purchase, has anyone else noted the Remmington caps being longer than previously?  Needles to say my big fingers are not conducive to putting caps on by hand.

I just bought my first batch or Remington caps some time back and noticed that they are longer than the CCIs that I had been using. I thought that it might be the off-brand (not Ted Cash) capper that I was using.

Interesting. I'd certainly like to hear from people who use Remington caps to find out what cappers that they use.

I use a snail type capper, TC (?) anyway, it has no problem with Remington caps, actually did have a problem with shorter brand caps rolling over..... Inline cappers come in different sizes, but you'd have to test to find the right one.
