TEXAS TRAPPERS - Fur Hunters Fur Sale Info
« on: December 23, 2006, 02:56:12 PM »
A Fur Auction, hosted by Texas Trappers & Fur Hunters Association will be held March 3, 2007, at the Coke Stevenson Center located in Junction Texas.

Buyers from Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Louisiana as well as Texas, have expressed interest in coming to Junction to buy your fur.  They want your green fur as well as your dried fur.

Even though Red Fox and River Otter prices are expected to be less than last year, it appears all others to be improved over last season.  Of special interest is Grey Fox, Ring Tail and Bobcat.

Sellers will pay 6% commission on furs they sell.  Should you choose not to accept the top bid offer, a 2% fee is all you will then owe.  Sellers will need to bring their hunting license number for Coyote and Bobcat and their trapping license number for all other furs.

Sellers will tie their fur into groups or bundles called "Lot."  Sellers choose how the "lots" are made up.  Each Lot will be identified with the sellers code number written on tag affixed to each lot.  Payment will be collected from the buyer on the day of the sale.

Assistance will be available to help you put your fur into a lot and to offer suggestions.  The system we are using has been used at numerous fur auctions in our neighboring states.

Lot numbers will be issued Friday afternoon from 3:00pm to 5:30pm and Saturday morning starting at 7:00am.  Bidding will begin at 10:00am Saturday morning.

All sales of Fur will be subject to the appropriate commission.  No outside selling will be allowed.  Contact Bill Turnbow at 806256-3039 or Don Cooper, 903-882-4294.

Good Luck and God Bless you and yours,
