new Christmas present

 got a new lyman great plains rifle for Christmas ----yahoo!!!  i got to shoot it and it shoots very good with 75 grains of goex and a .015 patch . i tried some pa conicals and they didn't work well . what i was wondering is ,are there any conicals that shoot well out of the 1/60 twist ,or should i adjust my powder  with the pa conicals?  thank's in advance ,RON

you might try  the ballet . i have also found hollow base  conicals  of some designs work well ..
 the avrage conical on the market though isnt really designed to be shot though  that slow of twist

Why not stick with the round ball? They are accurate in your rifle. They are cheap. They are great deer killers.

I will add another vote for sticking with the round balls. That is what the rifle was made to shoot. They have a fast twist barrel if you really want to shoot bullets.

All three ... PA Conicals, Ballets and Rounballs work in a majority of your model/twist. Just adjust the powder charge - after the barrel is broke in. Conicals are best for barrel break-in. May need a couple of boxes to smooth out the bore. Then sight-in.

I ordered a Lyman GPR for Christmas on the 18th and although in stock at Lymans still has not been delivered ... oh well. The GPR has a 1:60 twist and I bought mine specifically for P&B because of the slow twist.
