What did ya all get for Christmas?
« on: December 26, 2006, 06:24:53 AM »
Hello everyone
What did ya all get for Christmas? Any new firearms? I got two new firearms for Hanukkah. Well, we normally don’t exchange gifts but this year we did. A Ruger GP 100 and a Weatherby Vanguard in 300 Winchester Magnum are now in my safe  ;D Lets here what you got.

My wife & I just donate to the Salvation Army rather than exchange presents these days.  But I did buy myself a Benjamin air rifle for Christmas and a mountain cur puppy.

Didn't get any muzzleloading stuff but got some NASCAR collectables. Bought my buddy a nice shooting rest for his muzzl.  He is getting over a cancer operation and having trouble getting back his strength so I figured it would come in handy. While up at Cain's Outdoors getting the rest I spotted a handmade flinter by a guy up the road in St. Marys, WV.   Sure was a nice rifle, swamped barrel and browned. I thought the price was the sticker hanging down by the trigger (turned out it went to the rifle above). Figuring I could trade in my factory gun or guns then add some cash I would buy it. Then something tickled my finger and the real price showed up. So much for that thought. Santa(that would be me)  must have thought I had not been that good this year. Upside is that I still have 6 days left this year and I am taking a picture of Santa to the range and use it for target practice.  That is the beauty of Christmas falling on the 25th you still have 6 whole days left to be naughty before he starts counting again for next Christmas.

No new guns (snivel, snivel), but I did get a bunch of junk that I have absolutely no use for.  I guess it's the thought that counts....  To hell with the thought, I wish people would just buy themselves something nice for Christmas and I would do the same.  This of course would wreck the economy.

Got a scratch-off holiday lottery ticket that was a $100 winner.  That money (and my checkbook) are going with me to the gun show at the end of the month.

Kinda funny...my youngest brother always puts a lottery ticket in my brothers' and dad's stockings when we get together.  All 4 of the tickets won $20 or more this year.

Last year, my dad bought my brother one of those "million dollar" fake tickets.  You should have seen the look on his face when he thought he won  :P
The problem with troubleshooting is....sometimes it shoots back!

No guns. Actually my wife and I decided to wait until after the new year to get each other our Christmas gifts from each other. With three kids (13, 9 and 5) it works out better for us this way. She wanted a better digital camera. She'll have to think of something else now. My parents got her one! I'm getting a new Husqvarna 353 chain saw! Don't need it right now so waiting is no big deal.  ;D

I bought myself a remington 11-87 slug gun way back in oct. I was doing a lot of overtime and it was more practical to get it then. I have two kids of my own and Santa usually leaves us a little flat.

12 ga. coach gun (I was a really good boy this year). Already had it to the range 2 days this week. Most shotgun rounds I've fired for a long time.

A new Tikka T3 hunter in 22-250. Man will this thing shoot and the trigger is even better than my CZ's.
