I would like all voiced opinions, advice, and proven test. I have bought my first ever pistol. It is a mark III 5 1/2" bull barrel. I would like to know what is the cleanest and most accurate .22 round for the money. I have always been a fan of remingtons' vipers in my 10/22. Did not know about for a pistol though. I was wondering about Aguila's super max. It has the highest velocity that i can find, but then again I want it to be accurate. Since I have little experience with pistol's, ammo will be used mainly for target practice. So hunting purposes should have little effect on your input. Remember the most accurate and cleanest for the money. Thanks in advance Ryan

Also I had visited a site in the past that compared .22lr rounds, but I can not seem to find it anywhere. It compared according to velocity, accuracy, penetration, fouling, and price. If anyone knows of this website it would be appreciated as well.

  I also reccommend RFC.  For me, I've found the Federal bulk sruff tobe the cleanest and most accurate for the money.  Win and rem have all given me issues with being dirty and not givven the accuaracy like he Federal.  You can go and get the better stuff and see better results proberly but at that extra cost.  each gun is different hough.  What's best in one doesn't equate to it being the best in another, even of the same make and model.  Try a few different kinds and see for yourself what's best in yours.  it's time well spent at the range and it's not like there's a lot of money spent of .22lr ammo.

My Mk.II loves Federal bulk and I shoot about 800-1000 rounds a month through it. In my pistol it is more than accurate enough and at about ten bucks for 550 rounds at Wally's is quite economical also. Remingtons have a lot of FTFs and ejection problems in my gun. But 22s are very picky as to what ammo they like. What works well in one gun may perform poorly in another similar gun, even those being the same make and model.

Mine likes the faster stuff. Velociters were the most accurate followed by Stingers. Can't find the Velociters so I'm using the Stingers.

I shoot a MK1, MK2 both target models and a 617. The only ammo I have found to not perform is the Reminton products. I have settled on the Wolf Target. And the Winchester T-22.

Try the Federal Auto Match bulk box. I just started using it & it seems to work very well in the pistols & rifles I've tried it in. Very accurate & clean. Also like Rem. Sub Sonics. Each gun has it's own preference. GOOD LUCK!!!
