Yep, confused again . . . I've been Belted

Now that I have figured out my previous questions (with your help) here is another one.  I am reloading for a 7mm.  I understand that generally a person only wants to resize the neck for a belted cartridge.  But how about the shoulder?  Does the cartridge ride on the shoulder or the belt?

I have set my resizer/decapper with a nickles worth of space between the shell holder and the die.  I have the decapper pin just long enough to punch out the primer. So should everything else be all right as set by RCBS or do I have to make further adjustments.  RCBS does not say in their instructions and the Speer manual doesnt either . . . at least not that I can see.  I know this is simple stuff, cuz even with the mechanical ability of a potatoe I understand it once I can see it . . . or you guys explain it too me.  But please bear w/ the mechanically challenged.  If it wasnt for guys like me, you wouldnt have anybody to laugh at.

Longwinters, I think you got it .   Just push the lever down all the way and screw in the full length die till it touches the shell holder. That is for full lengh resizing. If you want to neck size with a full lenthg die turn it back out one turn. With  14 threads per inch for standard dies one turn would mean you turned it out one fourteenth of an inch. Not quite the thickness of a nickel but I have turned them out 2 turns already with good results in my 22-250. A 7mag should still work the same. Good luck !

Longwinters:  You are getting it right, however besure to lube the inside of the brass real good so that when the ball is coming out it wont have a lot of resistance which would pull the neck stretching the brass, :D   JIM

 Thanks guys.  Last nite I completed my 1st loads.  Now for the time to get out to the range and see what happens.  I am really looking forward to it.  Next is 30-06, and 7m-08.  Then 243 and then who knows. :-D
