Nosler 110 grain AccuBond bullets in a 25-06 Ackley Improved?
« on: December 27, 2006, 02:19:25 PM »
Has any one tried these bullets with the Ackley Improved version of the 25-06?
I bought some to test them on paper and would like to know if anyone has any powder or load recommendations.
The only load I have developed so far is for 100 grain Barnes Blue-Coated XLC bullets with Reloder 19. They group OK but I have yet to shoot at any game with them. It seems I only run into our little Arizona Coues deer when I'm carrying my .260 Sako AII.

As always, any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

For maximum velocity you may have better luck with slower powders and the 110 AB bullets.  RL22 and H4831 may give higher velocities with the heavier bullet.  The case capacity difference with the AI case isn't huge, so powders that work well in the parent .25-06 are a good place to start.

Thank you, Lone Star.

I'll start with Reloder 19 because I have some on hand, then try H4831 SC, because of it's insensitivity to temperature variation.
