Mini 14 magazines-where to buy GOOD ones?
« on: December 28, 2006, 04:56:48 AM »
As subject line states:
Where can I buy some GOOD 20-30 round mini 14 magazines?
I see some folks are selling ruger LEO or ex Leo as the case may be for about $35.
I enjoy shooting but don't want to spend as much for magazines as I did for the rifle.
Any directions to a good purchase would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Kywoodwkr, I have tried several of the knock off brands with no success, the ruger brand so far have been the only ones to work in my series 180. I have one Ruger 30 round that works flawless. The best price I have seen on the Ruger brand is at Cheaper Than Dirt$25.00. When they post them they sell out in short order. I have been trying to catch them for awhile now and everytime I call they have sold out. If you can find them for $35.00 buy them, I have seen them as high as $70.00 for the 30 rounders. the 20 rounds sell for $35.00-$50.00.
If you do not want to pay $35.00 pass the info on to me I will buy a couple at that price.

arky65,
Thank you very much for the prompt reply.
I was afraid that what you said was true.
My research had found some for $35 and I was hoping that they were high.
I did find three for $35 @ delivered so took advantage of that.
Again, I appreciate your fast answer.
I did have a seller on e-Bay quote me $35 apiece but I would assume shipping was extra.
I had a very early mini-14 many years ago with a whole raft of 20's and 30's.
Of course, to keep the economy going I sold it and am now paying a premium.
Story of my life I guess. :-)
Thanks again.

shootall,
Thanks for the link.
However they are out and their published price is now $34.95. :-(  :-(
I was able to get three shipped to me for $105 total.
All this got me to thinking about when I first got a mini-14.
Had a fistfull and a half of high capacity magazines. 20's and 30's
Think those days are referred to as 'the good ole days'. :-)
Thanks again.
