Traditions 32 caliber Deerhunter Muzzleloader

I was hoping to get some opinions, good or bad on this particular muzzleloader. I was thinking I might want one. Thanks for your help, Bo.

My wife has a .50 cal Deerhunter and likes it. It is a very accurate rifle but, it is too light and balanced wrong for me. Not a bad rifle but not great. I think the .32 is basicly the same rifle.

If you plan to use it on deer make sure the caliber is legal where you hunt.

This rifle would be used for some fun shooting and maybe squirrels.

    all muzzeloading guns vary greatly from gun to gun..  your gun could be perfect as is, but generally they all need some tinkering.. like finding what flint to use and bevel up and bevel down can make a great difference..  sights may not be in the correct possition for the best load..  dont move or fool around with the sights until you get her shooting under 2  inch or better at 50 yards or there abouts. i wouldnt doubt it can do better.   patch thickness, lube, ball size all need to be tried out.  its a labor many here would love to give for your new 32..  ask lots of questions, im a bigger bore shooter but there are lots that love the small bores, and   they are great for what your looking for..  let the tinkering begin   .  i have one in .50 cal and it didnt need a thing except a load worked up and sights moved.....dave...

Just check with your state for legal use. Not all states will allow you to use a Muzz 32 on deer hunting.

I have a 32 cal Crocket Tradition for squirrels and love the gun.

I have a .50 Deerhunter....it was a nice little gun and killed dozens of deer.  For some reason after about 10 years it started losing accuracy and I can no longer trust it when it counts.  The quality was so-so, but not bad for a $119 gun.  I got a trigger job done and that was sufficient.

What lube where you using? My Lyman Deerstalker had a build-up of Wonderlube that rendered it useless. I was always very meticulous in cleaning, but I was not getting it all out. I used WD40 and a brass brush and worked on it for 2 evenings. I couldn't beleive the crap that was left behing after normal cleaning. The accuracy came back and the rifle is being used. Give it a go, maybe your rifle has build-up also.
