Got a call yesterday
« on: December 29, 2006, 11:18:52 AM »
When I got up yesterday, my daughter had written a note to call the sheriff's office. ;) YES! I called and Nancy told me she had my ccw ready and I could pick it up at my convience.  ;D I gave her a call back and and said I was on my way! Now, I'll have to go get a shoulder holster for my Blackhawk in the morning, so I can carry it under my coat into the woods! ;D

Congrads on the new CCW.Have one question thought. From your post, you had to call them,so I asume there was a waiting period or something. When I got mine many years ago and every year since(August of each year) I just paid my money ($15.00) and the lady types it out on computer while I wait.Takes about 5 mins.....Rick

Congrats on your CCL.  That wait is a killer.  I am waiting on mine right now and the 90th day falls on Jan 1st so it should be here any day.

Bucks....I don't know where Snuffer is from but in Oklahoma you must take a class and the send in your paper work along with your money, your picture and your fingerprints and wait around 90 days.

I took the class, and filled out paperwork, and since I live in a very small town, she said it should take about a month. It took exactly 30 days. She told me sometimes the reason it takes a little longer, is because of peoples names. If your name is pretty well used like smith, jones, and the like they have to check your name agsainst the numbers,(ssn) and the like to make sure it is you, along with your prints. I was hoping to get it before I go home to hunt. ;D BTW, BPS was my 1st stop this morning, to get a shoulder holster for my 7.5" Blackhawk. Can't wait to see the reaction when I hit a deer with a 240 gr. XTP. ;D

In Washington we are a "shall issue" state so they have to do it in under 30 days here which is nice because i am in a small county and they process them pretty quick.  Our laws here allow us to carry concealed without a permit if "engaged in a legitimate sporting activity" ie camping hunting fishing hiking, so on also at home or on the way to and from the range.
