Rebuild Kits for Pietta Revolvers
« on: April 28, 2003, 06:39:05 PM »
After some offline conversation with Howdy Doody, I was able to contact Cabelas and chase down some information on their rebuild kits. They make them for the blued and stainless 58's and according to Howdy, they consist of the hammer, trigger, cam, indexing hand and trigger and main springs.  It appears that they also have a kit for the Navy replicas but I didn't get the particulars.

Gun.........Part Number......Price

Blued 58..21-40-52-885....$17.99
SS 58......21-40-52-886....$24.99

It appears that you can also order through the web site by using the Catalog Quick Order and typing in part number XP-214052.

Looking at the Pietta site to see what's in it, apparently the Mainspring, hammer, hand assy, bolt, trig/bolt spring and trigger.  For $17.99, I'm going to get a few from Cabela's.  Those parts, from Uberti or Cimarron (for Uberti) would total $59.00, from VTI, $69.00.  The Pietta parts are cheaper than Uberti, but not that much cheaper.  As I'm shooting my Piettas with R&D conversions in them, spare parts could be a good investment.

Dixie Gun Works also carries these parts, not in kit  form, but individually.
