First revolver buck

Hi guys,

I just started hunting with my ruger SBH 44 mag this year and got a really nice 8 pt.  I was using Hornady custom 300 gr xtp's.
60 yards broadside and he droped.  I've been hunting with the Contender but wanted to try something new this year.  I really enjoyed it.  I just wanted to share.

What kind of scope mount do you have on the Blackhawk? Still trying to get my .41 mag ready and not doing too well with the iron sights. Thanks and congratulations.

To answer the first question.  No, my ears weren't ringing at all.  I pulled the flaps down on my hat just before the shot.  I hardly heard a thing.  A lot of people think that a 300 gr load would be brutal but to me it actually kicks less than the 240's. My setup is a Leupold 4X with Weigand base and Burris Zee Rings.  I get about 2 1/2 inche groups at 100 yards with factory Hornady Custom ammo.

Nice deer bud!! I find 300 grainer more of a push then the 240 grainer too, the lighter the bullet the sharper the kick that my assumption! ;D Oo-ya try it with out the scope next time  ;) for more of a challange 8) 8)
