What is the heaviest highest BC bullet or ammo it shoots accurately in real life ? Does it shoot the 69 grain match bullets/ammo well?

Not that I've ever seen reported, but it does shoot the lighter bullets very well, the same range as the 1:12", 40-55, unlike other firearms. The Win 64gr PP and Sierra 63gr Varminter are the heaviest that shoot well in either.

Thank you,
I was considering a Handi Heavy Barrel mostly gor bench shooting and the local "Woodchuck Matchs" around here at clubs in the summer. The typical Woodchuck shoot is prone with bi-pod or front bag only. 3 shot groups each at actual Woodchucks size paper targets 100,300 & 500 yards are common. No wind flags, just a couple warm up shots at 100 then shoot. .223's that shoot the higher BC bullets do well as do 6mm range rifles.
I wish they shot the higher BC 69 grain bullets better in .223
Thoughts welcome.

Hi everyone I am new here as this will be my first post. I heard the the 1/9 twist would not shoot anything over 55gr well but I had to try. I bought some black hills 68gr moly HP and to my surprise the shot 3/4" @ 100 yards. Out of all the different ammo I have tried my handi only likes the 68gr and 50gr HP. Just have to say I love the handi

Welcome Josh, I don't have Handy in 223 yet, but I'm sure I'll be getting a barrell soon. My Savage bolt 223 loves 68gr Blackhills Match Ammo and will consistanly shoot 1/2 to 3/4 moa. It has a 1/9 twist. I have hard the handy's don't like the heavier bullet though. The books will tell you that a 1/9 is sufficent to stabilize a 68 grain. I've also shot 75gr and they work fine, just not as good as the 68's.
