Slave, today I ran up to Lukes gun shop which is about 3 miles away... He had the MMP and the Harvester Sabots... the MMP's did the same as the Knight sabots when I would seat a bullet in it...
The Harvester on the other hand fit these like a glove... So I picked up two packs of the Harvester sabots... And some Rusty Duck Bore Cleaner.. as he doesn't have any TC cleaner, solvent at all.. He said that he has tried and still uses Ammonia to clean his bores and a fine mist on the bore and wood with all his Muzzle loaders...
He said he would take a few patches and soak them in Ammonia, then place one on the bore and push it threw and clean it with about 4 passes..... I asked after how many shots.. and he said about 10 shots...he said after he cleans the bore with ammonia,he then adds some bore butter on a patch and runs it down the bore and leaves it till he is ready to use that weapon again.. Or till mid summer when he will get the itch to go threw and clean all his firearms....
I have always wondered about the spray in the bore foam up stuff that bubbles and activates to clean the powder and such left in the barrel.. But I have yet to Find it local.. and hate to wait and wait on shipping...
But I may just have to...
Anyhow, I got the sabot issue worked out, Now to Just get out and fire off a few more rounds... as that trigger finger itch never dies... Even with age ......
Take care all and thanks for the Idea's on some sabots and such....
