My brother shoots a .308 10FPLE2A in .308 ... 26" HB ... 1:10 twist ... w/AccuTrigger ... but he does not have the McMillan stock. A very accurate rifle that I reload for. It his favorite rifle and his favorite caliber.

i shoot a 110fp in 25/06 and enjoy it very much. i have a friend that has six McMillan stocks and is well pleased. however he says that they are not that much better than the Bell & Carlson that is on my 110fp. i personally don't have experience with the McM stocks. i won't shoot his rifles because they are all weatherbys and i'm not into mags.

I have a Savage 10FP in .223. It is a fine and very accurate rifle, accutrigger is great. I replaced the cheap plastic stock on mine with a Bell and Carlson stock. I would advise you to go with the McMillan stock. My Bell and Carlson looks great, but is not much higher quality than the cheap Savage stock. I hope this helps.

outdoorz4me:

Your stock is probably the Dura-Maxx stock that  B&C makes for Savage rifles.  It's injection molded like regular factory plastic stocks, but it is stiffer.  I've had two of them.  The Medalist or Carbelite series of stock is a totally different ball game.  They are solid, kevlar composite/fiberglass stocks.  I've had several of them too.

If it were me, I'd by a regular 10FP and get the Medalist Tactical stock for it.  Gun would be about $500 or less, you can find the Medalist stock for under $200 sometimes....regular price is around $250 or a bit more.  Last one I got was on Ebay for $192 shipped.

Well, that depends on what price you've got on the McMillan stocked gun.  Last price I saw on the McMillan stocked rifle was close to $800.  It really depends on whether an extra $100 or so is important to you.  You could also look at the HS Precision stocked rifle.  I've seen them for around $650, and I think that's a hard deal to beat.

I saw an HS version, probably better bang for the buck.
