.480 Ruger

Will your .475" 325-400g WFN's stabilize at a muzzle velocity of 900fps? Can they be accurate at this speed?
A bullet of this weight and speed sounds good on paper, but I would like to know if it will work in the real world.
Thanks.

Definately, you'll get extreme accuracy and deadly game performance at 900 fps.  I would learn toward a 350 gr if intending to load primarily at 900 fps.  It can still be cranked tup to 1500 fps if you want to get more of a kick out of it, but I think what you are aiming for is the optimum deer gun, yet capable of taking elk cleanly with careful shots.

The only time I fired a 475 was with my 400 LFN's loaded to 1000 fps.  A very pleasant and accurate gun to shoot, yet the bullets acted a bit like a buldozer when they hit the backstop.  But the WFN is best for game with the low velocities.

Thats great. A 350g WFN @900fps gives about 10ftlbs of recoil in a 3.5lb gun. I could shoot that all day, and not be sore or sprained doing it.
Thanks for the info.
