Hello I am new to this forum. I put this post on the remington forum but thought I might get some good ideas here. I know an older gentleman who's health is failing and wants to sell his guns.He has 2 model 1100's one 12ga and one .410. Both guns I think he would have bought in the 60's or early 70's. The 12ga is 2 3/4 and the .410 is 3 inch. Both guns have a high grade finish with engraved recievers, but niether gun has removeable chokes. He also has a sears pump 20ga. in average condition. What would be a fair price for these guns.       thanks Clem

I really hate to put prices on guns such as this since they are sight unseen and not a great deal of detail given. Prices do vary widely by area also. But if the two Remington guns have vent ribs I'd say that $300-$350 would likely be fair prices. I'd probably not want to sink more than $300 in either myself. The Sears gun isn't likely worth even $200, maybe more like $150-175.

i am like greybeard i wouldnt give more than 350 to 400 for the 12 ga if that is a vent rib if the gun is in great shape wouldnt give more than 350 for the 410 if its a vent rib also in great shape i have a rem 1100 20 ga my dad bought brand new in early 70s and it is a vent rib barrel its in great shape i dont shoot it much but it shoots like a new one i have my dads 1100 12ga he got new in early 80s and the older gun shoots as good as it does wouldnt hesateat on takeing the older 1 out on a phesant or quail hunt u cant buy these guns any more new they are all used at gun shows i wouldnt take 500 for my older one i am sure u know the 1187 took its place and around here new thay run 650 to 700  so if they are in great to good shape they will last u a life time so go for it if u can get them for the money and for the sears pump i dont think it would be woth 100  good luck

used gun prices vary a great deal from area to area, around here the 12 would probably bring between 300 and 400 depending on condition, choke, barrel lenght etc. the 410 would bring 450 to 500 keep in mind these prices are final sale prices not buying to resell.  The sears pump would bring between 100 and 125.  But prices in your area may be very different

Thanks for the information. I was thinking no more than 300 and maybe a little less for the .410. They would likly not be used very much as I mostly hunt ducks and geese and can only use steel shot. But they would be a nice addition to my remington collection. Thanks for your help.      clem

     The .410 would bring $100 to $150 more than the 12 around my area. (Tn.) if both were in like condition.
