Should you use low or med rings on 33mm obj scope
« on: January 04, 2007, 11:20:26 AM »

Can low rings be used on 33mm objective scope or do I have to go with medium rings. Or does it depend on which action the rifle has. I would think the sights woul have to be removed on most rifles for very low profile.

Leupold has a mount selection guide online. I'd say usually low would work but as you mentioned some actions are different. What Ruger callls low rings for the M77 rifles are more like medium but the bolt handle wouldn't clear most scope rear bells with lower rings.
