ejector to extractor
« on: January 04, 2007, 07:41:04 PM »
ok fellas, here goes, I talked a buddy of mine into ordering a handi in .22-250 this was right after my girlfriend bought me a handi in .243 that i love! so my .243 has an ejector, the .22-250 has an extractor. I like the extractor cause i have had some cases that stick and if i had the extractor i could just break the barrel open and it would pull the case. But i do like the ejector for hunting purposes. deer antilope, yotes and prarrie dogs. but every now and then i get a shell that sticks while im hunting. What a pain! and its so frusterating! I have had the same prob with my .223 and somone from this bord told me to try polishing it and i tried but i was kinda spooked to try it as i always am. So my Q is, is there a way to switch or convert the ejector to extractor? or should i do it if there is? tell me what you think. anybody got some swell ideas for my prob with stuck cases? Thanks guys, im sorry if this subject gets ridden hard, but if it does then i didnt look hard enough, so hummor me. Thanks guys!

If your too spooked to just polish the chamber...how are you going to actually cut metal on the ejector? If your up to it...Please read about it in the FAQ's and Help sticky at the top of this  forum index ..You can see if you want to take it on..This conversion really won't help you cure your problem though I'm afraid...The conversion isn't as good as the new extractors are...You might want to try the polishing...or send it back to NEF and let them look at it...
