I'm due for a few new ones....have you seen them in the stores and are they priced similar to the older batteries?

According to an article in a Seattle newspaper the new Rayovac batteries are or will be available first at Wal Mart stories.  I do not recall the price but it was in line with other re-chargeable I have purchased.  http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/businesstechnology/2003494774_batteries260.html

GE Sanyo Eneloop 4pk AA Rechargeable $15.00 at Fry’s Electronics.

I should note that Fry’s also sell the Lenmar re-chargeable that I consider junk.

Having just found the listed price for the Sanyo Eneloop battery I recall the Wal Mart price for the Rayovac Hybrid is lower.  The information on the Rayovac battery states it can be re-charged with any charge designed to recharge mAh batteries.  I do not know if that is the case with the Sanyo batteries.  Last fall I purchased and returned some Sanyo rechargeables.  The reason was the large diameter would not allow them to fit into a Mini Mag light.  I had to push one out with a wooden dowl.  I have found a least one other brand that is a little tight.  Use care with batteries it appears there is not a standard on size and an oversize battery can damage a gps battery holder.
