Bush attaches his own signing statement to newly passed postal bill.... and apparently is very fond of signing statements.

at face value the signing opens all sorts possibliities. Abuse of the law will surely be forthcoming.  Any law stands a good chance of being accepted by the public when the words "national security" are attached. Here in WV they passed an ordinance in town that prohibits the standing on a city sidewalk. I am guessing that the key word in sidewalk is walk--at least in the eyes of our city officals. ;D

I actually had a young man tell me that as soon as his baby was born, he, his wife, and baby, were going to get "microchiped"........Now why in the hell, would anyone possibly want a chip meant strictly for identification implanted into their body?

Here in Chicago, they spent how much time and money to ban the sale of fae gras (spell) the fatted goose liver pate. There's our tax dollars hard at work, now we have to pay lawyers to go to court to fight against the restaraunts that are suing the city. Don't we have more important issues with gangs and drugs to worry about?
They also banned smoking in public places, seat belt laws. not to mention gun control.
Our rights are slowly being taken away.
A  little tiny infringement here and another there and the next thing you know we will have uniformed officers of homeland security standing on corners with uzi's asking us for our papers. All in the name of making us safer.
