anyone tried the georgia arms .41 mag "cowboy loads"?

210 SWC at 850fps
price: 16 per 50.00
cheapest 41 ammo around by far

I recently purchased a smith 657 with a 7.5" barrel for hunting and would love to try silhouette shooting and thought these rounds might be appropriate..

While that ammunition would certainly work for Field Pistol (half scale targets out to 100 yards), you would probably not have enough momentum left at 200 yards/meters to take down a full sized ram as the momentum at your stated muzzle velocity is .79 lb/sec.  A momentum factor of .77 on the target (200 yards/meters) is considered minimum for rams.

Pistol bullets on full sized targets will not cause any damage.  I shoot a .41 mag with a 270 grain cast, gas checked Leadhead bullet with a muzzle velocity of 1370 FPS with no problem.

Best of luck with the new ammunition.
