New Rifle/What do you think?
« on: January 05, 2007, 11:07:05 AM »
I have a couple of questions. I just purchased my first Handi Rifle. I got a SB2 in 22.250. I paid $298 with a 6x24 50MM scope (Looks like a tasco) and hard case. I got this as a combo at Dick's. Did I get took? It really doesn't matter now because I am hooked. I notice in browsing the forum that there are a ton of suggestions for improving accuracy, useful accesories, the FAQ's etc. I am leaning toward adding bipod (Harris or is there a better choice?). Then I thought I would ask, what would be the first thing that you would recommend a new owner to do (Other than shoot it everyday....I'm burning alot of ammo ;D). Thanks for any suggestions.

The first thing to do is give it a darn good cleaning including polishing the bore. Read the FAQ and decide what if any mods you are going to do. Note: some Handi's don't shoot well off a bipod at all. Most shoot best when supported under the hinge pin.

Good luck!!

With scope and case that was not a bad deal , rifle alone around here run between 209 and 229 , as far as bi-pod  , i tried one on my 223 and did not like but each to his own on them .

If you found the FAQs you know what to do to make them shoot , some like a clean bore , some like a little fouling left in them for best groups .
