S&W 629-6 Stealth Hunter
« on: January 06, 2007, 10:11:18 AM »
First off, howdy and thanks for having me. Now off to business. Tell me what you know about this 629-6. I have searched the internet from top to bottom and have yet to run across this weighted model. It's NIB and has all the basic info inside, but I'm unable to find any info about it at all on the web. Anyone else have this model or know someone who does? Thanks in advance...

Noted: I have found a couple pics of similar models, but they were in the "Birdsong" finish and were not weighted.

The Birdsong finished gun was weighted. Yours is made similar to but not identical to several others which resemble the first N frame revolver the PC put out which I think was the 629-3 or -4.

Not 100% sure yet, but I'm getting close to positive that it's a Lew Horton Special.

A whole bunch of years ago S&W produced one similar in blue with a non-fluted cylinder and a full underlug - it was a 'blackout' package with a similar grip style that felt very, very good in my hand.  That one was a hunter, for sure.  I only saw that revolver once and had hoped S&W would produce it again but doesn't look like it.

Those are some of the revolvers that are made for shootin', all day long.  Mikey.
