I have a 30-30AI Cont. & I like it, but I am looking at your question & 150 yards. I assume that this is a rifle, as you asked the same question in H&R Forum. And I would think you reload or else you would not be asking about the AI. That being the case you could load
spitzers & the std with spitzers is more than a match for ANY Deer at 150 yards, I would not be afraid of 250 yards with loaded spitzers
or 200 with factory 30-30 if careful. So, with your range max, I just don't see what diff. it makes.

nomosendero, Thanks for the repley,This is the only place that I made a post. Contender man myself. H&R are for the other guys . was looking more for a short range brush gun. thought the AI may push 150-165grs a little better. I do reload and like to be different. Have not had time to rescearch the two. What kind of groups should I expect?

Sorry about that. Someone else asked the very same question on the H&R forum a couple of days ago. My Contender is in handgun format/Super 14, & I get 2,400fps with a 150BT. The 150 Bal. Tip can be a bomb at higher velocities, but they do great in this case. I get 3/4"-1" with this handgun when I do my part. As far as vel. goes, normally you are looking at 100-125fps with most AI's, but this one is closer to 200fps.
Good luck
