243 handi rifle at the range

Today I took some fellow workers of mine to the gun range,I was able to shoot my new .243 here's a picture of the target the group measures about 1.2" trhe first few shots the rifle was opening on me wich was a little disturbing,it may have been the reason this rifle was on the used rifle rack, it certainly appears to have been shot very little
we took nearly every rifle I own and the guy's had a blast they enjoyed the mosin nagant and the arisake but liked the mauser the best, the single shot romanian trainer(cugir) was also a big hit they really thought it was neat how quiet it shot with the cb caps, and it,s accuracy!

I had the same problem with my 10ga. when I got it. Open the rifle and look in the latch area where the latch contacts the barrel. This area needs to be spotless. Mine was full of crud and metal shavings and would pop open when shooting. Use brake cleaner or carb cleaner to flush this area. Do not get this on your stocks unless you don't like the finish

Until these rifles get little use, they need to be closed very firmly, not gently, in fact the owner's manual states this, although you may not have one with a used firearm. See the pop open medicine link in the FAQs also.
