Model 70 sporter varmint
« on: January 07, 2007, 02:37:34 AM »
My friend has a model 70 short action hvy barrel sporter varmint barreled action in 22-250.  He says that it has a 22.5 inch barrel.  I am considering buying it to use as a varmint rifle, but so far, have not been able to find any information on it.  Were these decent rifles, as far as accuracy is concerned.  When were they manufactured?  Also what would be a good aftermarket stock.  Is there a stock that is a "drop in" that will need no fitment.
Any information or opinions greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Swamp
