i have 3 brownings. a abolt 223, bbr 06 and a mod 53 32-20. all shoot awesum, function perfectly and look and handle awesum.the 06 is actually my sons deer rifle.he loves it, says it will be his deer rifle for all time. im thinking about gettin a a bolt in 06 or 260, im guessing they dont make one in 6.5x55?im very pleased with the quality of these rifles, but then the youngest is at least a 2000 model.

Unfortunately the quality is not the same in some cases even though the American design and workers are the same level as the Japanese [IE AUTOS]

I just can't imagine buying one. I've had several in the past. The faux woodgrain under the plastic finish really sets them off. The Howa is just as good or better and 1/2 the price.

To answer your question on the blr's. IME and I've owned 15 or so over the years they are the best handling lever in the calibers they are available in. They shoot good but are hunting rifles. I've never owned one that would consistantly shoot sub-MOA groups. But you don't need that in a hunting rifle for big game IMO.

Were I wanting a light weight mountain rifle in a browning I would look at the A-bolt Micro Medalion in 257 roberts If they still chamber that model in the roberts.

A thought provoking statement, thats all.....If true, sad. How much MOA do we need in a hunting rifle and how many USA jobs is it worth to you/buyer to get moa versus 1.5 moa from the USA made rifle.......Think.....

A Browning won't hold a candle accuracy wise to a Remington, Marlin, Savage, Winchester, T/C, or even a Mossberg. If you want accuracy buy American.

I had a bLR in 7mag for several years it ran flawless and shot sub moa with Federal premiums. It was my backup rifle for elk, and tokk its share of deer as well. I have an Abolt LH in 30-06, and love the fit and finish It shoots sub moa with Winchester Silvertips. It has taken its share of deer, antelope and elk. I have a B92 44mag unfired. Said I would shoot it when my Marlin wears out. Maybe I'll shoot it on my 60th birthday...

Not sure if this is the right thread, but here goes. I have a 1977 Remington 700bdl 25-06 that is like new. A guy wants to trade me a 1993 Browning A Bolt medallion like new in 338 win mag. What do you Browning guys think? I've never owned a Browning anythning.

That trade sounds like a good deal for you IF you have a use for & can handle the recoil of the 338 in the A-Bolt? The 25-06 is something more guys would have a use for. If your a handloader you can tame that 338 some if you wanted to.

I know I'm late to this but, my father has a A-Bolt 2 stainless stalker w/ boss in a 7mm rem mag. With this gun, the 1st time I had ever shot it, I put 3 bullets in a 1in group at 100 yds....I was 13 yrs old and maybe weighed 120 lbs. Last time I fired this gun, I shot a group at 100 yrds, thinking I missed a 3in circle, I walked to the target and found the 3 bullets made on jagged hole. I wanted the same gun in a 260 rem, I don't think Browning has made a bolt gun in a 260 for the last couple years so I bought a model 7 instead. I still wish I could get my hands on a Browning.

This is 290 yards. The group measures 1 5/8 inches. Its pretty well self explanitory. This why I own Browning Rifles.
