Moon phases

Does the dark of the moon or the New moon have any effect on the Predator as to when he starts to look for food. I am thinking of coyotes or cats.

I have heard that animals are less active at night during the dark of the moon, but have no personal experience to back this up.

SDS-GEN......just the opposite. Being a guy that's hunted the night shift for 43 years, the new moon is the best moon to hunt if you are using lights. Don't get me wrong, you can call animals under any moon phase but the new one is usually the best. ;)

Graham Dawson

The Coyote must eat all the time, So any time is a good time to hunt them, KUDOS for Mr Onecoyote as he has it right about night hunting, I have hunted every night for several nights, And found there wasn't a noticeable difference in the take of game.
All predators are on the alert for a meal at any time day or night. Thanks for the question Graham.......Joe.........

I do like to pay attention to the Majors & minors as said in the solunar tables. They really do seem to pay off but I dont let them keep me from hunting if I am out of sync with them & really want to go.
