Low velocity loads for .44 mag
«

I just bought back a Marlin in .44 mag i usta own in the early '70's. Shot good then w/ cast SWCGC about 255 grain in full house loads. I still got the mould, but now I want velocities down under 1000 fps.
Gimme your thoughts.

Try 6.8 of Unique under a 240 grain lead bullet. Accuracy is good in two Rugers I know of and velocity is right around 880 f/s from a 7.5" barrel.

I'm real happy with 5 gr TITEGROUP and 200 gr cast RF. It shoots great in both my RVs and my Marlin, and has plenty of oomph for knockdowns without generating a lot of recoil.
