500 Linebaugh mold
« on: January 12, 2007, 02:16:25 PM »
I am thinking about getting a mold for my 500 Linebaugh. What do you think about a 400gr Long Wide Nose? PB or GC? If not maybe same but 440gr.?

to me the wln were even worse fliers then the wfns ballisitic cast and lbt both do lfn molds  in the 430-450 grain range and those are the bullets that work best in the .500 linebaugh.

Lloyd what is your favorite 500 Linebaugh bullet and why? Would you recomend it for a all around bullet? I want to use one bullet and two or three loads for everything, if I can make it work. I think a 440gr at 1000-1100fps would work for 99% of my shooting. Whad do you think? Mostly play shooting and I hunt hogs and whitetail when I can. Any help from someone with your experince would be great! Also any one else who has any ideas I would like to here from you too!

three i really like are the 430 ballistic cast lfn plain base the 450 ballistic cast lfngc and the 450 swc that Frank at mount baldy bullets casts. Of the three probably shoot the lfnpb the most because i hate buying bullets and dont much care for buying gas checks either. Anyone of those three or something simular would be fine for what you want to do with the .500
