williams fire sights
« on: January 16, 2007, 07:42:54 AM »
just came into a Huntsman that was made in '04. I believe the sights on this one are NOT the Williams fire sights as they sit quite high on the barrel. My question is- if I wanted to switch to the Williams sight, will they sit lower on the barrel? The stock on the gun right now is a short comb Monte Carlo that I want to switch out for the standard pistol grip. I thinking that if I did switch to the lower stock, the current sights would be way to high. Also, would the williams sights fit right into the holes of the standard sights?

You probably already got the info you needed, but in case you didn't, here is what I know.  I bought the Huntsmans combo .50/.243, and it came with the plastic sights.  I went ahead and ordered the Williams sights from NEF (I was kinda hoping they would comp them to me, but no luck), and yes they were lower, and they also did fit into the original holes.  I had always read the you had to cock the hammer to line up the sights, but didn't experience that until I replaced the orig. sights.  Also, I kind of remember being a little confused with the front sight - not as many screws as the original, of something along those lines.  It looked so low that I wasn't too sure it was going to work, but after taking it to the range, it worked fine, and there is still plenty of room to adjust.  Put a scope on it so I don't really use them, but they are there if something happens to the scope.  Hope this helps.
