The rem 7615 police gets a new rear sight.
« on: January 18, 2007, 03:08:11 PM »
Check out the apeture sight I orderd for my .223 pump. Well as odds would have it my Williams WGRS sight arrived today from the folks at midwayusa.com. This sight will fit the 7615, 7600 and 7400 series of rifles. The unconventonal scope mount is for a 20ga 870 shotgun. The reason for this particular setup is to allow for a much more precice sight picture for using the sights in our local 200/300M rifle matches and yet still retain a scope for hunting and load development and to be able to swap (or use both) between the two without having to rezero.

As you can see from this pic the sight radius is more than doubled from 26cm to 54cm.

A pic of the installed sight

and a shot of how the weaver scope mount clears the new sight.

A word of advice if you order this sight spring for a smaller apeture when you order. The included apeture is rather large for target work.

That is way cool but now you are just teasing us.  When are you going to get that out and shoot it so you can give us a range report?  Some of us are dying to hear how it shoots.

I am curious to see if you will also need to replace the front sight... Please provide a range report!

Did the 870 20 ga sidesaddle mount without modification?  I have been trying to figure out a way to mount a peep and a scope on a 7600 for a truck gun.  Thanks

Yes BUT you'll have to use a couple of spacers on the trigger pin replacment screws as a 12 GA reciever is slightly wider than a 20ga/rifle reciever. I used a couple of hard neoprene and steel washers.i contacted weaver about getting some shorter screws and thier CS rep stated that they did not make any but he said he would send me some spacers

So is it a 12 ga mount or a 20 ga mount?  Thanks.

It's a 12 ga mount, According to weaver they don't make a 20ga specific mount. But the only difffrence between a 12 or 20 ga will be the length of the mounting screws hence needing spacers.

The 12 gauge reciever is about .15 wider. than the 20ga 870 or 7400/7600 sized recievers
