Slug barrel for Itaca 37 or Mossberg 835
« on: January 19, 2007, 03:24:56 AM »
I am considering a rifled slug barrel for one of my shotguns. Someday I will be hunting in a slug gun only area and will need it. I have heard a lot of talk regarding 200 yard accuracy. The Ithaca has a 2 3/4 inch chamber and is a quality gun. The Mossberg has a 3 1/2 inch chamber and is more utilitarian. I see barrels available for both guns and am looking for opinions and experiences regarding this. Could some barrel and factory slug combination bring me near 200 yard hunting accuracy for deer? Thank you in advance for any information.

You'll need a "rifled" barrel with sabots... a plain smoothbore will be limiting.
