The only thing you may be missing is the tendancy for folks to get competitive when bidding.
Turnaround for a factory fitting can be as much as several weeks, depending on availability of the barrel you want and where they are in their yearly cycle. They close for a couple of weeks, before christmas 'til after new years, for holidays and inventory.
Barrels bought other than from the factory may or (more likely) may not fit your reciever without being fitted. See the FAQs for fitting instructions; it's not difficult.
