Ordering from CMP

I'm thinking of ordering a Garand from CMP. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any suggestions?

Also, I noticed that CMP says that it will be selling some M1 Carbines this year. I hope they are at a reasonable price. Does anyone have a guess what they will go for?

I have never ordered anything for CMP.  I have phoned them for information on several occasions and have visited the Camp Perry location to make a purchase.

They are great people to work with.  I cannot say enough good thinks about the folks that I have had contact with.

There have several requirments that need to be met before you can purchase from them.  It would be best to check their website ASAP since you want to pick-up one of the forthcoming carbines.

I don't think anyone knows the prices, only speculation.  I think the hope is that they are in the $300 - $600 range depending on condition.

I'm pretty sure I've got the requirements covered. I agree that 300.00-600.00 would be in the sweet spot. It would be nice to be able to pick up a shooter for $300.00.

yes i have gotten 5 Garand from them, and love every one!!! i think i have remington 40x-HB on the way too?? and i will do my best to get inline for a Carbine.
better act fast for a Garand, they keep running out of the better ones and are down to a few field grades, racks and no wood ones. my service garde is a great post war that i look at more then shoot. and my usgi field grade is a great shooter and really not bad looking either. only regret i have is not buying more service grades when they had them. i sold a racker to buy the service grade i have now. one stripped receiver waiting for a 308 barrel, and a H&R barreled receiver waiting for more parts to finish. they use to have complete H&R's but i waited to long and missed out on them???
i don't think its possable to be disapointed with a Garand from CMP.

ordered a M-1 service grade and 1903A1 from them over the summer. The M-1 is superb and really looks like it was never used.  the m-1 dated from about 1952.  The 1903 dated from about 1932.  The springfield is in very good condition and a great shooter. I also just received a barrelled 1903A1 receiver.  I had planned to put another barrel on it and build  sporter. I removed the old barrel, and cleaned it well for ebay only to find out that it is in Excellent condition, bore wise, so now I'm not so sure i'll sell it. 

Definitley cmp is a avenue that should be used if you qualify.  If you are former military all you need to substantiate is a copy of your DD214  showing marksmanship training or qualification. VFW or American Legion Membership applies also. And of course  C and R.

I think you have to be a cmp  member to order from the cmp program,  The carbine is being released april of 2007  and they were talking from 400.00 to 1200.00 the price,
