Lee Shooter program
« on: January 20, 2007, 10:24:03 AM »
Does anyone have the Lee Shooter computer program? I just bought all new reloading equipment having been out of it for a while so I decided to get the Shooter program. So far I haven't found it that useful. It has a place for powder manuals but it looks like they have to be downloaded. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Charlie

I found it less  than useful as well especially when compared with Sierra's Infinity program.  Now that most powder makers put reloadng data on line, loading manuals are not really needed for load data at least.  Just my experience.
Never said I didn''t know how to use one.

It isn't worth all that much IMO.  The ability to run basic ballistic data quickly is decent, that and it keeps it on file.  It is fairly quick considering it keeps bullet types on file.  The reloading and firearm logs aren't too bad, I do use them to keep data.  I do like using the targets for some shooting.

I am sure there are better programs, but it has some limited use.

It is the only Lee product that disappointed.  It is an old MS-DOS style program that offers nothing you cannot get on line from the powder manufacturers.  The reduced load calculator is perhaps the only feature of any import.  The rest is database stuff [like logs and inventories].  You can get better targets anywhere.
