fishing update
« on: May 03, 2003, 05:19:54 PM »
went trout fishing this morning and after panfish this afternoon, and did quite well at both.   caught some pre-spawn crappies that were downright big.   water is still a little cool, though.    also found a small bay that was teeming with bass,  some in the 6-8 lb range.  even though they were there by the hundreds,  we only managed to catch two.   bizarre to see them in such numbers, so active, yet uninterested in baits.   was a great way to start the fishing season.

Hey, a couple of 6-8 pound bass would make my day?

in reading  my post,  it might lead one to believe that i said we caught 2 6-8 lb bass.   what i should have said was that this bay was loaded with bass,  some in the 6-8 lb range and we managed to land two that were 15 inches.   nice fish,  but babies compared to the big ones we saw in there.

Still it gives you hope just to know there are so many biguns there! I lived in Neenah for two years. It never occurred to me to go bass fishing. Looks like I should have found time.
Good Fishing,
Savage

we went out last weekend and did really well at 6 in the morning.   i am taking tommorrow off and going fishing in the morning and try to get into them again.   it has been cool here since the weekend,  so i am guessing they will be in a little deeper water.
