Absolutely we're in trouble!  I believe the 2008 Presidential race will come down to picking the lesser of the 2 or 3 evils.  Much like most of the recent elections we've had.

The irony of this post is that Hillary is the most sane of the potential Dem candidates. Compared to the others she's an officer and a gentleman.

Doesn't say much for the Demodcrats if Hillary is the best and most sane candidate they can produce.  But to be fair I don't see any Republican candidates waiting in the wings that inspire a warm fuzzy feeling in me iether.   IMHO this country is in need of much prayer.

If Tom agrees to run, he will be my choice.  He is a very strong avocate of tighter border controls, but he is also strong in several other area that make him attractive.  He is worth checking out.

Before the 9/11 attacks in 2001, Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) was about the ONLY national politician who routinely spoke for the majority of people about the need to control our borders.

Now, dozens of politicians have followed his lead. But so far, most presidential candidates have been luke-warm to extremely scary on border security.

Tancredo is the pioneer, the leader who turned a disorganized and dispirited group of border-security Members of the U.S. House into one of the largest and most powerful caucuses in Congress.

He is considering taking that leadership a GIANT STEP FURTHER.

He has just formed an presidential exploratory committee to consider whether to run in the primaries so he can use that soapbox to shout the opinions of the majority of Americans on immigration matters.

WHY A PETITION IS SO IMPORTANT

A person doesn't take on the huge sacrifice of a year of constant campaigning based only on a general feeling of support from the public.

That is why the staffs of potential candidates offer devices like petitions to assess the level of enthusiasm. Petitions are ESSENTIAL to finding whether interest is REAL and DEEP.

When I think of all the mail I have received through the years asking if there isn't some way to persuade Congressman Tancredo to enter the presidential primary sweepstakes to advance our message of border security. . .

know in time for him to make the decision.

Okay Tom Tancredo gets an A+ in the immigration/border security dept. but what are his stances on other issues such as 2nd amendment, abortion, taxes, corporal punishment, welfare, social security, health care...

He's off to a good start but there are still too many unanswered questions before I can endorse him.

One of the major problems if a Democrat is elected as the President, and with a majority in the Senate and House, will be the unrestained attack on the 2nd Amend.  The first will be on handguns, followed by "Sniper rifles", which will be any rifle that can be scoped....beware the Democrats for they will deliver evil....If they can get the votes.......America will be disarmed.....

The sad thing here is she could be elected.  According to the latest polls she has a 31% approval rating.  Not great, but if nominated as the party choice that could go up.  I think if she is elected, it will be a result of the vote of the minority and women vote. 

As for Tom, he looks good in all of the major areas.  I don't think he would be as big a disappointment as Hillary.

I am neither a full blooded, dye in the wool anything when it comes to politics. I think anyone who thinks that their party has the market covered on everything needs to rethink their vision for the future. Their vision is tunnel visiion.  Both sides of my family were very much dyed in the wool what some of you like to refer to as dumbycrates.  I personally think that Hillary running may be a very good thing short term.  She has gone on record this afternoon as saying she would favor withholding money from the Iraqi troops and government. I really don't think anyone over there wants  her in the White House, she doesn't smoke cigars does she? Sorry couldn't help that .  If I were the leaders over there I would start thinking that maybe I might want to get my troops and government in order before the money tap goes dry. While Pres. Bush had a good idea in the war his lack of truly understanding the Muslim mind set has led us down into a deathtrap. Maybe just maybe with Hillary talking about stopping the flow of money to  them it might jumpstart them into taking action and control over their own affairs so we can wind down and get our boys home. She and Obamba have as much chance of getting my vote as an ice cube in--well you get the picture. It will not matter who gets into the White House if they do not understand  and believe the ugly little truth that Islam is a murder in the name of religion cult.  Years ago the CIA told the government to forget the USSR as a real threat but to look at Islam and some of their extreme beliefs. When Dummy Carter took office, there I go again  , I mean Jimmy Carter took office he deep sixed the files.

Nobody is "neutral" about Hitlary..
  
    Here in NY State, we reasonable folks have had her foisted upon us by the unreasonable majority (located primarily, in the major cities).
   Hitlary promised 200,000 jobs coming to western NY..(the opposite end from NY City) , thank God !
    
  We have probably LOST that many jobs in that time ! Even in these good economic times,more people are leaving NY every day and if I were younger, clearly..I would join them.

    The only ones sticking around are the politicians, govt employees, teachers and union puppets..the Dems take care of them, to the detriment of and high taxes for, the rest of us !

   Then of course, there are also the usual parasites ( welfare etc.) that liberal government creates..( remember, they vote also).
  
   One example; a nearby county..Erie (where Buffalo is contained)..in that county, the biggest employer is government ! Government employees actually outnumber all other employees..

   It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if you have 100 people taking tax money out and only 70 people putting tax money in..it can't go on forever ! DUH !

  The politicians hang around for the duration of their "career"..then move on to Florida, Arizona..or  try for federal office.
  
    Before they go however; they hand out all kinds of retirement bonuses to teachers and other govt employees..then leave us with the tab !

   Out here, in the rural counties, they leave us pretty much alone..we're just "flyover country"...although they do remember us for taxes..oh boy, do they !!

   In these rural counties, there is some of the greatest hunting, fishing and outdoor sports..but the politicians like Hitlary will run us broke.

   Thje urban areas of NY State are in a narrow band that starts at NY City, runs up the Hudson r. to Albany then turns left (west) and runs to Buffalo , on Lake Erie.
    
  With the majority of the population located in this narrow band, they dictate the election of all statewide offices to the rest of us.

  The counties outside that band are generally very red counties.
    
  Nobody is neutral about Hitlary...folks either love her or can't stand her ! Can't see her ever getting high enough to be elected pres....especially if the "real her" shows through during the campaign.
  
     Much depends on how good a liar she has for a campaign manager !
