Browning BBR

In what year was the BBR introduced and what year was it replaced by the A-Bolt.

Other than having a butt ugly stock, what was the reason for its demise.  Low sales probably.

I just read an article on the A-Bolt in one of the shooting magazines.
Sako was making the actions and barrels for Browning. Joseph Badali designed the BBR to replace the Sakos. The A-Bolt replaced the BBR.
I will have to find the magazine to get the dates. I want to say the BBR began in about 1976 until 1982, but am guessing there.
I went thru the Browning Museum in Ogdon in about 1997 and Joseph Badali was my tour guide, it was late in the day and I had him as a personal tour guide... GREAT expierence for a big Browning fan as myself!!!

Well... I was close. When I read the article I did not know there would be a test. Maybe why I did not much care for school.

The later model stocks just before the A bolt were different and had a rosewood tip. The earlier ones had a reverse cut on the end sort of like a Weatherby.  I really like my bbr in 270 and wish that I could have snagged a 338 mag before they stopped production. I never was a fan of a lighter rifle and prefer a heavier one for better holding on target and less felt recoil.  The bbr that I have shoots great groups and is a really nice looking rifle.

I have one in 7mm that has really great wood.  Great shooter too. Many elk can attest to that.  ;D What is the value of BBR's these days? ???
