Son's first ML Deer
« on: January 21, 2007, 04:06:54 PM »
My 12 year old got his first deer with a muzzle loader (My .50 Encore) this Sat. He is a great hunter and has killed quite a few deer but he was really excited about this one. She was being chased by a spike and was running full speed, he got on her and I yelled to make her stop. As soon as she stopped he nailed her. She was quartering away and the bullet entered the rear of the rib cage and exited just behind the off shoulder. Sorry for the bad picture all I had was my phone camera.

Good shot! Great hunting story, especially for a 12 year old kid.
He is lucky to have a Dad to take him hunting.
My father never went hunting.
Aim small don't miss.

That's awesome!!!  Keep taking him out.  I try to take my boys whenever they want to go.  My dad never hunted either, but he is a fishing fool.....so that was great as well.  Old ex-girlfriend's dad got me started hunting.  Then I married into a family that are serious hunters, so life is good!!!
